Henry Blodget blasts the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for being insufficiently aggressive with their investments, then backs off a bit to consider the scope of their generosity and some of their future plans. It's worth reading: Sometimes the dollar value of a charitable donation is a poor reflection of the good done by that donation, simply because the gift was invested poorly or spent too soon. The Gates foundation is too valuable a resource to let that happen.

The results of such a gigantic philanthropic goal will be visible only if the results speak for themselves from a remote village in the world or from a real beneficiary whose living condidtions have changed from this help. What needs to be taken care of also is the fact that such an organisation is like a Dam. So when we open the floodgates we need to ensure that the flow of available resources is channelised
and reaches the fields where the benefitted crop has to grow. If the flow of resources are not properly channelised then the resources will submerge the beneficiary.This can happen keeping in view the various evils of the society viz. Corruption, Red Tapism, Misuse of govt. machinery,disproportioante amassing of wealth,grabbing the bread of the poor, exploitation of labour, diversion of resources ment for the distribution to the poor by the advantaged and many more evils which will predominate the cause of eradicating the sufferings.
